Meenakshi-Sunthareswarar Thirukalyanam is considered as the divine marriage. According to Hindu legend,Meenakshi-Sunthareswarar Thirukalyanam was supposed to be the biggest event on earth. It's also believed that Lord Siva came down to earth in the form of Sunthareswarar to marry Meenakshi, and incarnation of Goddess Parvathi.

Siva Thaandavam

Siva Thaandavam is a form of cosmic dance by Lord Siva in Chithamparam.The dance consists of 108 Karanams. Siva Thaandavam is a cosmic dance of creation, protection and destruction. The Lord Siva had prformed seven different Thaandavams. They are Ananda Thaandavam, Sandya Thaandavam, Kalika Thaandavam, Vijaya Thaandavam, Oorthva Thaandavam, Uma Thaandavam and Samhara Thaanda

Kolam-A colourful design is made by saffron flour and wheat flour at the venue where Manapoo has taken place on October 21st 2007 at Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Temple in Kochchikade, Colombo 13 to welcome the devotees. This colourful Kolam was created by Pratheepan Sharma of Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Temple.

Thulasi or Indian Basil
Thulasi or Indian Basil in the compound of Mangala Pilliayar temple in Pavalamalai, Ginigaththena. Its botanical name is Ocimum Sanctum. And it's also called "Holy Basil". This plant in considered holy and has many herbal values. Thulasi is invoked in prayers as the embodiment of purity.
According to the Hindu legends the Goddess lives in Thulasi plant and considered sacred. Therefore women are not supposed to touch Thulasi when menstruating. Thulasi garlands are made and offered to Lord Vishnu, because it pleases the Lord Vishnu the most. Thulasi is a very common name for girls among the Hindus
