The ground is polished with cow dung, and Kolam is drawn on top of it. Kolam is drawn using Saffron powder and wheat flour. This is placed at the main gate of Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Devasthanam on the day of Vettai Thiruvizha (Animal Pilgrimage)
